Welcome to aussierhonda.com the replacement for dixie9.com V.5.0.3!

I first put my genealogy online in 1998 on geocities. It steadily grew as time permitted and in Dec 2001 I opened Dixie9.com. Then with the creation of my alternative site, Australian Funeral Industry Links aussierhonda.com was finally registered and is now being used as the main site, from the search engine statistics aussierhonda is being searched far more often than dixie9.

We not only have Australian families we have links to Ireland, Scotland, Wales, Cornwall and Indigenous (aboriginal) families along with our convict heritage as well, feel free to browse through the family groups listed above to view their descendant and ancestor charts and see if you are related.

Also remember to bookmark the site (Control+D) and check the Whats New page for updates and any new information added. We would like to take this opportunity to express our sincere thanks to all the 'cousins' that we have come across so far that have helped contribute to this family tree. Without their assistance we would not have all the information that we have to create this site. Also a huge thank you to the 'Universe' for always guiding us in the right direction, you have not failed us yet!

PLEASE CHECK the PRIVACY POLICY, COPYRIGHT and ABOUT US pages before going any further

  • Are you related?

If you think you might be related or would like further information please email me or check out the Membership page, I would love to hear from you and compare notes.  Would also be happy to add a link to you or your site in the Family Connection area, just ask!

  • Errors and/or corrections?

If you happen to notice or know of any errors, corrections or additions in our information that may be required PLEASE contact us.  We would also like to know of any broken or outdated web links, as I would like to keep these pages as active and as current as possible.
  • Curiosity keeps the CAT happy!

There is a guestmap (which is full) but fun to look through so feel free to check it and see if there are any connections there too, however PLEASE don't leave new message's in the GuestMap use the guestbook instead so I can see who is visiting the site and where you hail from!

Updates for ARG this week - 10-Feb-2008

The Craft Genealogy section has had a clean-up , well Johnson really with an updated descendant chart . A new page added on the REEVE family including a descendant chart for Bedeannah REEVES.

Bebeannah Reeves and Bridget (?)

This chart is a new addition the Craft Genealogy Section covering the Lancaster Branch - more of Heather's and Gina's ancestors.

It has been compiled purely from NSW BDM Indexes and the Australian Cemetery Indexes together, it is definitely open to corrections, additions and adjustments, I was seriously fascinated with the name Bebeannah which is what got me started! Anybody know the history of it? Please come forward.

Marco Family aka Millers

Our Miller and related families had strong ties to the world of 'travelling entertainers' as showman, acrobats, sideshow, circus and even a snakeman. In fact the family is still represented within the business today!

Charlie Miller (1894-1949) was apparently known as the 'Snakeman' around Bingara. Charlie and Emily nee Davis (his wife) were also known as the 'Marco's' within the circuit.

Using Drupal to present your genealogy

I get a lot of emails asking how this site is created so I have decided to share what is behind www.aussierhonda.com

The site, as it is now, is presented using the CMS (Content Management System) Drupal. I have tried several different CMS's over the years and whilst learning Drupal is not an easy task I find it a wonderful system.

Around and about ARG this week - 22-Jan-2008

This week I have tidied up the Friend Genealogy section and added Alice Friend nee Lenard's descendant chart for the Lenard and Brett family.

Descendants of Henry William Lenard and Mary Jane Brett

Just because I felt sorry for dear Alice being left out so I decided to put this one up in her honour.

Please note this is NOT confirmed lineage just what I've found cruising the genealogy sites, if you are related please feel free to get in touch and share details for my sons' heritage.

I had originally thought that the Mary Jane BRETT here was part of the family that arrived that immigrated to Australia from England in 1857 on "Plantagenet"

Baby steps into the future

Tonight I have taken a few more baby steps into the 'modern' world of blogging..

Dear G.G.G.G.Grandma Lydia by Glynis Wheeler

"Dear G.G.G.G.Grandma Lydia,
